Recognized as one of the greatest comedians working today, Christopher Titus, star of the Fox hit TV show Titus, is back with an all-new Comedy Central special, Love is Evol. Building off the success of Norman Rockwell is Bleeding and The 5th Annual End of the World Tour, this hilarious and unflinching look at dating, marriage, and divorce is a tour de force on all things love.
This guy is funny. Not just a little funny – he is laugh until you snort funny. He is going through an ugly divorce that has dragged on for over two years, and yet has taken that experience and written a hilarious comedy routine around it. Kevin and I watched this DVD the other night, and I laughed so much that my jaw was literally sore the next morning.
There is some adult language, as well as adult topics, in his routine, so if that bothers you, you’ll probably want to give it a pass. There are some comedians whose content is so profanity-laced that I can’t stand it. While I wish he hadn’t used any profanity, it wasn’t pervasive, and I was able to enjoy it.
I shouldn’t admit this, but it took both Kevin and I to the end of the DVD to figure out why he spelled evil “EVOL.” It’s “love” backward. I think we were tired.
Christopher Titus: Love is Evol will be available on DVD on February 17th. The DVD special features include “Titus vs. Cupid,” “The Fans Speak: Love on the Rocks,” and “Countdown to V-Day.”
