What’s your favorite fish? Halibut, but only if it’s battered and deep fried. Not a big fish fan.

When, if ever, did you start liking olives? I don’t remember not liking olives. I love black olives, and I’m one of the only ones in my family who likes green olives.
When, if ever, did you start liking beer? When I was a kid and my dad would let me have little sips of his.
When, if ever, did you start liking shellfish? I’ve liked shrimp for a long time, and I loved lobster the first time I tried it – when I was just out of college and working as a nanny for my aunt.
What was the best thing your parent/s used to make? Spaghetti, meatloaf.
What’s the native specialty of your home town? Grinders (hot sub sandwiches) from Cascade Pizza. I wonder if it’s still there?
What’s your comfort food? Fried chicken, mashed potatoes with chicken gravy.
What’s your favorite type of chocolate? Milk Chocolate.
How do you like your steak? Medium – just a little pink.
How do you like your burger? Blackened with cajun spices and blue cheese crumbles.
How do you like your eggs? Scrambled or over-medium.
How do you like your potatoes? I can’t think of a thing you could do to a potato that would make me not like it.
How do you take your coffee? These days, decaf with cream, no sugar.
How do you take your tea? Not a tea drinker.
What’s your favorite mug? My insulated mug from Barnes & Noble with pictures of famous authors on it.
What’s your cookie of choice? Chocolate chip.
What’s your ideal breakfast? Kevin makes a great breakfast: bacon, scrambled eggs, blueberry pancakes.
What’s your ideal sandwich? Albacore tuna made with real mayo on white buttered bread with Lay’s original potato chips – on the sandwich. Yeah, real healthy, I know. I haven’t had one in years.
What’s your ideal pizza (topping and base)? Pepperoni, sausage, and mushrooms with extra cheese.
What’s your ideal pie (sweet or savory)? My grandma’s homemade peach with vanilla ice cream. Or raspberry, also with vanilla ice cream.
What’s your ideal salad? Ceasar.
What food do you always like to have in the fridge? Eggs.
What food do you always like to have in the freezer? Hamburger, chicken.
What food do you always like to have in the cupboard? Peanut butter.
What spices can you not live without? Garlic salt. Oh, and Kevin’s brother made some awesome BBQ chicken when we visited, with a spice rub called, believe it or not, Butt Rub. Spicy and good.
What sauces can you not live without? My homemade spaghetti sauce.
Where do you buy most of your food? Walmart.
How often do you go food shopping? Once a week.
What’s the most you’ve spent on a single food item? Don’t know – we shop cheap.
What’s the most expensive piece of kitchen equipment you own? Our stove?
What’s the last piece of equipment you bought for your kitchen? We got Kevin one of those egg sandwich makers for Christmas last year.

How many times a week/month do you cook from raw ingredients? Raw meat, often. Raw vegetables, too. We eat raw fruit, but I don’t really cook with it.

What’s your favorite thing to make for yourself? Frozen Buffalo wings with blue cheese.

What’s your choice of tipple at the end of a long day? Glass of wine.
Favorite cookbook/s? I don’t really use cookbooks.
