Well, the movie was a hit. Natalie loved it, and the boys even enjoyed it enough to watch it with her both times. (Don’t tell them I told you! ;) ) I was right in thinking that this would be more along the lines of Barbie in Swan Lake or Barbie as Rapunzel. I don’t think anyone said, “You know, like, totally,” which is a good thing.

The music was beautiful, the characters were well-voiced and there was a funny monkey and a cute kitten for the younger viewers. The dance scenes used the choreography of the New York City Ballet. What more could you ask for?

Here’s the plot synopsis:

In Barbie in the Twelve Dancing Princesses, Barbie as Princess Genevieve will dance her way into your heart in this fun and enchanting all-new adventure. Join Barbie as the beautiful Princess Genevieve and her eleven dancing princess sisters as they discover a secret entrance to an amazing, magical world where wishes come true! But when their father is in danger of losing his kingdom, Princess Genevieve and her sisters must work together in order to save the day and their father. They learn that the power of family can overcome all obstacles.

Don’t forget to leave a comment here in order to enter a drawing for one of three copies. There is actually a good chance I may have two more copies for giveaway. I’ll draw for the first three Monday morning as soon as I log on. If the other two copies materialize, I’ll draw two more names from those who didn’t win the first time.
