“God is the Author of creativity. As we turn down the volume on the destructive voices, we are free to turn up the creativity. We cannot write freely or creatively, in our journals or otherwise, when we are constantly criticizing ourselves. And there is more to life. It’s time to explore and dream, imagine and play. God is the quintessential Creator, and we are created in His image. It pleases Him when we create. “In the beginning,” means before there was anything. He flung the stars into a space where there was nothing. We are like God when we create something from nothing. When there is a blank page and we fill it with words, or an empty canvas and we heap color on it, or an empty refrigerator and we stock it with food for wonderful meals - we are creating something where in the beginning there was nothing. Granted, creating meatloaf is not quite like creating mankind, but…originality reveals our heavenly DNA.”
