Big Surprise
“Sexually charged music, magazines, TV and movies push youngsters into intercourse at an earlier age, perhaps by acting as kind of virtual peer that tells them everyone else is doing it, a study said Monday.”
Wow, that’s a shocker. Read the whole story here.

Where is our common sense?!
Did it really take a study for people to get this?
Makes me sad for our children’s generation.

April 3rd, 2006 at 10:49 amDoesn’t surprise me a bit.
April 3rd, 2006 at 10:52 amColor me unsurprised. Label it as normal, make sure everyone around you thinks everyone else is doing it to, and what else can we expect?
April 3rd, 2006 at 11:30 amSure, it makes common sense and seems obvious, but if you want to set a policy agenda, it always helps to have cold hard data to bolster your position. Otherwise, the other side can say “oh, you’re just being prudish.”
April 3rd, 2006 at 12:10 pmI have 3 teenagers. I suspect the only teenagers involved in the study were PS ones. While exposer may serve as a catalyst, I don’t think it is the fundamental problem.
April 3rd, 2006 at 3:11 pmWonder how long it took them to figure that out? *Duh*
April 4th, 2006 at 4:05 amI’ve sooo been saying this for years…did someone get PAID to report this?! If so, I want my cut!
April 4th, 2006 at 9:24 amWell–DUH!
But can’t be said too often–as parents…we need strength to hold fast to the right principles.
